At FX Animation Barcelona, we understand the importance of feeling at home in a new environment, especially when you embark on your journey as a student of film or digital arts. That's why we have created the FX-Family program, designed to provide newcomers with the support and resources they need to make their transition easier and more fulfilling.

FX-Family is a welcoming program to help newly arrived students have the best possible experience at our school and in the city of Barcelona.

Through fun cultural activities, guidance on city life, and constant support from mentors, we promote a sense of belonging in our school community while providing support as students adapt to their new academic journey.

FX-Family Benefits

FX-Family Welcoming Program

This program offers a series of activities designed to help you integrate easily into the student community, get to know your peers, and become familiar with the campus facilities, the 22@ district, and the city of Barcelona.

Additionally, all activities are supervised by two dedicated monitors who animate and provide continuous support to the students.

Before the semester begins, you will receive an email with the dates of our welcoming activities. Here's a sneak peek:

• Welcome session where you can meet other students, the International Relations team, academic coordinators, and other staff members here to assist you. Local delights will be served to all participants.
• Culture and language workshop: Session for international students to learn about the most relevant and interesting aspects of Catalan culture (landscapes, buildings, historical figures, gastronomy, etc.) and some basic expressions in the Catalan language.
• City and 22@ district discovery tour: With guided tours by authentic experts, you will have the opportunity to explore iconic places, cultural points of interest, and hidden gems throughout Barcelona.
• Cinema outings, outdoor picnics, and visits to exhibitions in local galleries and museums.

Advisory Service for International or Out-of-town Students

Just enrolled and coming to Barcelona from another city or even from abroad? Don't worry, we know the logistic and administrative challenges you have to face to settle in Barcelona, and we're here to streamline this process for you.

Our personalized advisory service is designed to address all your concerns and needs, from bureaucratic issues like visa assistance, N.I.E processing, residence permits, and health care assistance to finding suitable accommodation tailored to your needs and preferences.

Furthermore, we have a broad network of school-associated entities that allow us to offer you access to additional resources and services that can make your adaptation and experience in Barcelona more comfortable.

Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, and we are here to ensure you have all the support you need to make the most of your time at FX Bcn Film School and in the city.

We also provide you with a comprehensive guide on procedures, practical matters, activity schedules, and news of interest to help you settle in the city more easily.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to develop personal and interpersonal skills and competencies in a professional environment outside the classroom, participating in cross-cutting projects among different areas and gaining professional experience in a relaxed atmosphere that compensates for the dedicated hours in a high-performance training. Within the FX Experience, students can attend exclusive Masterclasses with relevant figures in the industry, participate in the main professional events and festivals of the sector (Mundos Digitales, Animac, Sitges Film Festival... among others), school-organized events to promote networking and professional experience (FX Job Fair), and live the international experience of the London Stage to visit leading industry companies (ILM, MPC, DNEG, Ninja Theory, Cinesite, Framestore... among others).

At FX BCN Film School we are a pioneering school at national level in incorporating eSports into our academic program, offering our students a unique opportunity to explore their passion for video games while pursuing their academic goals.

They will meet professionals from the sector and experience the excitement of competing in official tournaments and gaining first-hand knowledge of a rapidly growing industry.

FX eSports is an extracurricular service open to all our students, designed and supervised by professionals in the video game industry: students play, enjoy, and compete in national and international leagues and tournaments under the guidance of specialized coaches in a safe and healthy environment.

FX eSports is an additional benefit for FX BCN Film School students and is conceived to be a valuable educational tool in the development of their interpersonal skills.

In our program, we work hard to find a balance between the use of technology in education and promoting real interactions to support the emotional and social development of our students. We want to avoid at all costs that young people become passive recipients of technology.

Participants in FX eSports, in addition to exercising the same holistic skills for character development as in any other team activity - such as traditional sports, music, or theater - will develop interpersonal competencies such as teamwork under pressure, sharing ideas, critical and strategic thinking, problem-solving, emotional management, and leadership.
